Announcing our participation in the Law Society's Access to Innovation program

We’re very excited to announce that we’ve been approved as a participant of the Law Society of Ontario’s (LSO) Access to Innovation (A2I) program! Doormat is the second company to be approved as a program participant. To be approved, we had to demonstrate that we met the program’s standards for quality and consumer protection. This A2I stamp of approval from the LSO will bring assurance to Ontarians that Doormat has been vetted by the regulator to ensure we operate in a manner that protects our clients.
The LSO regulates and licenses all lawyers and paralegals in the province. Its A2I program is designed to enable businesses like Doormat to operate in a regulatory safe space, ensuring that innovation in the legal space is done in a way that protects the public. Doormat offers Ontarians an online solution where homeowners and homebuyers can go for their legal real estate needs. By participating in the LSO's program, Ontarians can have confidence that we have demonstrated the ability to provide quality service, while minimizing potential risks.
"Collaborating with the LSO’s Access to Innovation (A2I) program represents a natural progression for Doormat, given our operation in Ontario’s legal landscape," said Robert Saunders, CEO and Co-Founder of Doormat. "This program approval signifies a pivotal moment for us at Doormat. We are eager to work with the Law Society of Ontario to ensure that Ontarians are protected as they turn to digital solutions for their real estate legal needs."
Joining the first A2I program participant, Willful, Canada's market-leading online will platform, Doormat aims to bring innovation to real estate law in a responsible manner through A2I. “Having worked closely as Doormat's first formal advisor and angel investor, I am thrilled to see Doormat joining Willful within the LSO’s Access to Innovation (A2I) program,” said Erin Bury, CEO and Co-Founder of Willful. “Our collective missions are simple: to improve access to justice for Ontarians, and we are both committed to empowering Canadians with simple, affordable, and convenient digital solutions to common legal processes."
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the LSO through the A2I program to bring responsible innovation to the legal industry. This is just another step in our effort to create a seamless property closing process that makes it a delightful client experience rather than a stressful one.
